Over 4 million books have been donated and delivered to schools, libraries and children!

We are a non-profit organization that delivers an effective solution to two, domestic problems:

  • Scarcity of books in disadvantaged areas
  • Excess books thrown into landfills

Reading is a joy and a gift that you are offering our children. Your gift cannot be truly measured in dollars and cents but will be counted in the lives that you have touched.

I was fortunate to attend a session at a local Boys/Girls Club whereby Reading Tree was distributing books to the children and was impressed with the enthusiasm of the staff as well as the wonderful excitement and appreciation of the kids when receiving their books.

IPS Back to School Carnival donation with United Way

Indianapolis Public School District (IPS) is the largest school district in Indianapolis as well as in the state of Indiana with 33,372 students enrolled in 2009-2010. IPS is the only school corporation in central Indiana to offer magnet/option programs at no cost to students.

Summer 2011
  • In Chicago, IL, Reading Tree will donate 4,000 children’s books to the Summer Reading Expo.
  • In Greenwood, IN, Reading Tree will donate 9,500 children’s books to support Center Grove Middle School North’s sustained silent reading Connections program this fall.
  • In Gaithersburg, MD, Reading Tree will donate 5,000 books to Brown Station Elementary School in partnership with the City of Gaithersburg.
  • In Aurora, CO, Reading Tree is teaming up with the City of Aurora and the Friends of the Aurora Public Library to distribute books to Aurora’s local elementary schools and libraries.
