Top 10 Most Anticipated Movies for 2014

If there is anything which seems to withstand almost all economic swings, it would certainly have to be our love of movies. In particular, long awaited and highly anticipated movie releases that although have yet to be seen by the general public, have built a strong reputation and excitement within the industry and movie lovers based upon reviews, interviews with those involved with its creation and especially those short but action packed movie trailers we see on TV.

Some movies have built such a strong following of anticipated fans they might have lines outside the box office filled with those who have essentially camped out on sidewalks for days in fear of being unable to get in to claim their role as one of the first to see if all the buzz surrounding the movie was justified. On the other hand, other movies may have begun filming with dreams of Academy Awards and blockbuster fame, only to have critical reviews sink their ship long before it ever set sail.

Well, the top 10 most anticipated movies of 2014 we have on our list are all hoping to find their reviews flattering and their box office debuts record smashing. However, regardless of how their dreams eventually turn out or if they are able to withstand the enormous competition among from the other movies which are “coming soon,” they all have one great thing in common; for these 10 movies have been, and are currently, the most highly anticipated movies for 2014.

10: How to Train Your Dragon 2

This animated sequel is a follow up to one of the more extraordinarily heart-touching tales many have seen in a while, How to Train Your Dragon. In our first dragon training lesson, fans were not only amazed at director Dead Deblois and the movie’s animated specialist ability to take us all flying through the air without ever leaving our theatre seats! Fans of the movie of course look forward to seeing what special flights the sequel will take us all on, as well as being reunited with our loveable and now widely popular himself, Toothless, who fans everywhere have grown to adore!

9: Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

When The Planet of the Apes captivated fans and almost everyone with its amazingly real-like Motion-Capture filming and special effects, of course we would all want more! Although most Ape fans are still somewhat disgruntled regarding Andy Serkis extraordinarily brilliant performance not being recognized by those within the industry nor his receiving an Academy Award, you can surely bet they will all be out in full force on July 11th 2014 to witness what amazing feats of brilliance Serkis will dazzle movie lovers with this go around. It is said that director Matt Reeves enlisted many new humans to play alongside Serkis in the Dawn of the Planet of the Apes!

8: The Raid

Potentially one of the more actioned sequence and surprisingly dramatic films many have had the pleasure of seeing since the days of Die Hard was The Raid: Redemption. Iko Uwais played an awesomely efficient and extraordinarily deadly fighter under the role of Rama and fans quickly had found themselves a new butt-whipping phenomenon for which to want desperately to emulate. The sequel, The Raid, has become highly anticipated much due to the fact of the first flick’s fans longing for more and more of the almost seamless fighting sequences and mastery of skill Rama loves so well.

7: The Amazing Spider Man 2

Well, although many were somewhat let down by The Amazing Spider Man and both its plot overall, as well as its ending, rumors are that director Marc Webb – fitting name actually for a Spider Man director don’t you think? – has pulled out all the stops on The Amazing Spider Man 2. Bigger budget, better plot and a less unlikable ending has all those who loved Spider Man before leaning on their tip toes in anticipation to see even the slightest peak at what’s in store this go around.

For Interstellar, director Christopher Nolan has found much acclaim and quite a bit of anticipation already. That seems to happen when your resume consists of The Dark Knight trilogy and Inception just within the last few years. However, some fans might be apprehensive to camp on sidewalks just yet. Though highly touted as another masterpiece within the world of Nolan’s sci-fi mind, the plot of two astronauts and their exploration into a worm hole just doesn’t have the same appeal as a winged billionaire hero saving Gotham by night.

5: Transformers 4

While there has been much ado about the Transformers 4 being absent of its consummate hero, Shia LeBeuof, many fans are sitting on the edge of their seats and biting nails already in anticipation of seeing the sights of Mark Wahlberg and Kelsey Grammer alongside Optimus Prime and those widely additive and fun-loving Dinobots. While some may find it odd to not see Optimus reaching out and grabbing LeBeouf as he falls, far more are glad that nut is gone and look forward to a new era human counterparts to the Autobot dynasty.

4: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Much of the anticipation of Captain America: The Winter Soldier comes from those “in the know” who have been raving over how amazing the story line, script and action has drawn them into an almost addiction to have more. Comic-Con goers were all treated to a special viewing of scene footage that blew the social media outlets up in a buzz and of course, Captain America rapidly became a fan-favorite of almost anyone with a pulse.

3: Guardians of the Galaxy

Marvel has always found a way of taking its comic book hero characters to the big screen and finding much success. However, Guardians of the Galaxy is going to be far from familiar to any comic book fan from any era. You see, here in the Guardians, we have never seen any of these heros or the villains due to this movie introducing us for the first time to all new characters never before seen throughout Marvel. This alone has movie lovers and fans of all the studio’s previous hero flicks all excited.

Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart have grown into iconic symbols of good –vs- evil and the powers and abilities of X-Men everywhere throughout the movies have captivated us all and made Days of Future Past one of the most anticipated movies of 2014.

Yes, that is correct! Finally, after two long years of waiting, Godzilla is about to hit the big screen in all his glory. The enormous beast will soon be walking slowly from the ocean’s depth to begin trampling buildings and creating havoc wherever he goes!
